About the Owner

-Jeffrey McLeod is the owner and maker behind JM EcLectic, designing and building custom furniture and architectural pieces for residential and commercial spaces. His work is rooted in precision, material exploration, and a belief that well-made objects are those that are made with patience, skill and precision. He works out of his wood shop in Savannah, Georgia. He holds a degree in Aerospace Engineering, a background that trained him to think precisely, solve problems methodically, and understand materials at a fundamental level.

"I've been working with wood for a long time and was finally able to build my own shop just a few years ago. I found that I enjoyed being out in the shop far more than I enjoyed my job as an engineer. While I valued the rigor and the intrigue of engineering, I ultimately found that the corporate environment wasn’t where my best work—or attention—belonged. I was drawn instead to building tangible objects, working directly with materials, and watching the ideas I had on paper take physical form by my own hand.

Today, I work in my shop as a full-time woodworker, designing and building custom furniture and architectural pieces that balance structure, texture, and restraint. Each piece is made individually, with careful attention to proportion, joinery, and finish. My engineering background informs how I approach design and construction, but the goal is not technical display—it’s quiet confidence, durability, and visual intention.

My work often lives at the intersection of furniture and art. I’m interested in surfaces that invite closer inspection, forms that feel deliberate rather than decorative, and pieces that hold their own in thoughtfully designed spaces. Nothing is mass-produced, and nothing is rushed. Every project is an opportunity to explore materials, refine details, and create something unique that feels both grounded and distinctive.

I often receive custom requests, in which case I work closely with my clients to produce pieces that are tailored to their space and purpose—objects meant to be lived with, not just looked at. Whether it's tweaking something I've already got listed for sale or creating something new entirely, I'm open to receiving such requests from my clients."
